GPU Benchmarks & Value
Posted: 4/30/2023
This post shows benchmarks and value to performance information for the current GPU offerings. Below is a graph of PassMark benchmarks for each of the GPUs currently offered.
The processors are organized by the manufacturer. Intel GPUs, AMD GPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs are all included. However, GPU benchmarks aren’t as cut and dry as CPU benchmarks. GPUs also have specific drivers for games or use cases that can significantly increase performance. It is best to do more research into what exactly you need to be doing with your GPU to determine which is best to get. As always, if you need help deciding what GPU to put into your configuration, let us know on the sales support page. From the chart above, the slowest by far are the NVIDIA GT 710 and the NVIDIA GT 1030. Both of these GPUs are only used in home & office or professional desktops where CPUs do not have an iGPU. Still, they are the best value available, and it is less expensive to purchase one of those GPUs than to upgrade to a CPU with an iGPU. Below is another graph of the value of each of the GPUs.
The graph clearly shows that AMD currently has the best-value GPUs in the market. The RX 6600 is the best value by a decent margin. This is why we use some combination of the AMD RX series for most builds until the highest end in our pre-configured gaming computers. At the highest end, no one can compete with the NVIDIA RTX 4090 yet. Remember, when making your decision on what GPU to purchase, to contemplate both the value proposition of the card and the overall speed of the card. Any questions you may have, let us know on the sales support page, where we will gladly help you finish your configuration.
